Besa Melponte is the fourteen-year-old daughter of the only Necromancer in 19th Century Newald. Pierre Melponte maintains a controlling and aloof relationship with his daughter, not wanting to share anything about himself or his craft. But one evening out of the blue, he agrees to take her to an enchantment ceremony. When they arrive, the angry Bishop Delacroix greets them, and in the middle of the ceremony, the power entity inside the enchantment book nearly killed the bishop when he snatched it from the necromancer’s hands. They blame the necromancer for this attack and the Gendarmes take him into custody.

Heartbroken and in tears, Besa decides to continue her father’s legacy. But when she and her three friends open tombs to raise the dead, they get more than they bargained for when dark and dangerous entities seem intent on destroying Besa.

There is also the angry bishop, who, along with his growing group of black-clad followers called the Shadows, seeks revenge against Besa and her friends and manages to kidnap one member of The Graveyard Club. Will Besa and the rest of the club be able to save their friend? Or will the bishop and his Shadows exact their ultimate revenge?
